Dan Savage (founder of the “It Gets Better” project) is a perfect example of the whole “LGBT pride so long as you’re only a white cisman and nothing else” community.

Here are a few of the things he’s done:

• He has called trans* people “trannies” and “shemales”, as well as told a parent they were selfish for not waiting until their child has graduated from high school to have their sex-change operation. [x]
• He has attacked a rape survivor over her relationship with her husband [x]
• Savage falsely labeled Washington State Attorney Rob Mckenna as transgender as a joke(?) [x]
• He has stated that “avoiding bi guys is a good rule of thumb for gay men looking for long-term relationships.” [x]

Oh look here’s another good example of somebody who ain’t my ally and can go die in a fucking fire.

Also remember the time he blamed black people for the passing of Prop 8.

Or that time he said asexuals should not “inflict” themselves upon “normal” people, that we should do “normally sexual people” a favor and remove ourselves from the dating pool, that we make “normally sexual people” miserable, and that somehow we get off on being abusive to non-aces partners. He has also compared being asexual to having an STD.

He also condones bullying of fat people.

And he believes feminism destroys marriage.

And after he got glitterbombed for being a cissexist fuck, he started calling men “penis-havers” and women “vagina-havers.”

I just read his comments about asexual people (already knew about a lot of the other stuff)… like, wow he actually thought it was a good idea to bring up the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal in a conversation about asexuality and then write it off as he’s not saying one is like the other…like that actually happened. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.
